School Council

At Newfield Primary we aim to help children and young people to have a greater say over matters that affect their school and wider lives.

Each year, every class will elect two representatives to be members of the school council. The children elected will present the views of all pupils and have meetings with the Headteacher to discuss what they can do to improve the school and plan upcoming events.

To make our school council effective, we aim to:

  • have regular meetings
  • train and encourage good communication between representative and their classes
  • give the school council members opportunities to speak to Governors and visitors.
